Remembering Together East Lothian are collaborating with the Spott Community Association (SCA) to promote this newly renovated community circular walking route as part of East Lothian WalkFest 2023. It is a stunning, scenic one hour 3.5km circular route from Spott. The route connects East Lothian Core Paths 38, 39 and 40.

Following a successful fundraising drive by the SCA, the path has been upgraded and improved to include a new bridge, an elevated boardwalk and steps. 

The SCA are grateful to BeGreen in Dunbar (Community Wind Power) and Fred Olson Renewables (Crystal Rigg Wind Farms), landowners Greenshields and Mr Dykes, AG Thompson & Son and Drew Ramsay, the main contractors, and the volunteers from ELC Countryside Rangers for all their support.

This event marks the ‘Grand Opening’ of the Path and after the walk the SCA will serve refreshments in the Village Hall to mark the occasion.

The route is being considered as a potential Walking Trail for the Remembering Together project, and this will be an opportunity to measure community support for the proposal. Participants on the walk will be invited to offer informal feedback.

Dogs are welcome, but MUST be under strict control (on a lead or at close heel) when crossing the field with sheep by the hall and walking through Wester Broomhouse Cottages.
